The Search for the Great Pumpkin

“Dear Great Pumpkin, I am looking forward to your visit on Halloween night. Please bring me lots of presents.”

Today was a rare sunny beautiful day, and I decided to celebrate by going pumpkin picking. I went last year for the first time and had the best time, i’ve been planning all year on keeping up the tradition. It was a good time, but the people I was with weren’t having it, which put a damper on things. I guess I’m one of the rare twenty-somethings that’s delighted by a pumpkin patch complete with farm animals. I kept having to check my excitement so the people I was with wouldn’t notice how much fun I was having and judge me for it. The girls I was with were acting “too cool” to be picking pumpkins, which caused me to wonder why they accepted the invitation in the first place.
They are also the kind of girls that order 4 oz of fat-free frozen yogurt and complain how bad it is to be eating it. Even though I tried to remind them it’s fat free and to just enjoy the damn froyo! But since it’s coming from a fatty (me) eating a whole 8 oz of said yogurt, my point was null.
I just want to be married already so I can have a go-to person for these kinds of outings. Someone who will geek out over pumpkin picking with me. Who will eat froyo and enjoy it.
I loved the animals though.

Like this guy, who I called Li’l Sebastian.

And this adorable bunny.
